We refer to the Shito Ryu founded by Kenwa Manuni, as we learned it over many years under his son and main master Mabuni Kenei Soke until his death in 2015, and then continued under Sensei Hidetoshi Nakahashi.

In 1984 we got in touch with Nakahashi Sensei. This year the first summer course took place under the direction of Nakahashi Sensei, Sensei Yoshiharu Hatano and Ishimi Sensei. At Easter 1985, Mabuni Soke came to Europe for the first time at the invitation of Nakahashi Sensei to teach at a tournament in Porto Vecchio, Corsica. Mabuni Soke has been coming to Europe regularly since 1989; to Corsica for the annual summer course in Bastia and, by invitation, to other European countries. He was assisted by Nakahashi Sensei, Hatano Sensei and since 1999 also by Molina Sensei and Sensei Anselm Stahl.

In 1989 Nakahashi Sensei founded the "Union Shito-Ryu Europe", an umbrella organization for all European Shito-Ryu clubs. In 2008, the Union Shito Ryu Europe was dissolved and replaced by the association "Dento Shito Ryu International e.V." Shortly before his death, Nakahashi Sensei expressed the wish that Sensei Carlos Molina and Sensei Anselm Stahl continue the association Dento Shito Ryu International and thus his work continue.
